Three, two, one – START!

We have great news for you! We are relaunching the project “3.2.1-Start!”! This time not only for participants from the Chui oblast and Bishkek city, but also for young entrepreneurs from all over Kyrgyzstan! We would like to remind you that this program aims to promote social entrepreneurship among young people and support innovative solutions to environmental and climate issues.

“3.2.1 – Start!” will engage young people to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in 6 areas:

No. 6 “Clean Water and Sanitation”

No. 7 “Affordable and Clean Energy”

No. 8 “Decent Work and Economic Growth”

No. 13 “Climate Action”

No. 14 “Life below water”

No. 15 “Life on land”

This project is implemented by the Institute for Youth Development with the support of the Coca-Cola Foundation together with “Coca-Cola Bishkek Bottlers”.

Pitching day – The Final

The final stage of the project “3.2.1-Start!  – “Pitching day” was held on December 23, 2021 at the Kyrgyzpatent Innovation Center, where project finalists, experts, guests and spectators were present. A total of about 200 guests attended the event. Eighteen teams competed for the title of the best project ideas. Altogether, there were 5 prizes worth a total of 1.5 million KGS. The participants were judged by experts in the field of entrepreneurship and ecology, as well as special guests from the UNDP, CSR Central Asia and others. At the same time in a separate hall, panel discussions were held, where invited experts spoke on the topics of ecology, SDGs, finance, marketing and business. During the panel discussion the audience had the opportunities to ask the speakers questions, to participate in various contests and win valuable prizes, to make new contacts and enjoy conversations at the buffet. At the end of the day the winners of the project “3.2.1-Start!” were announced and awarded their prizes.

Training Camp “BOOTCAMP” in Issyk-Kul

As a result of the selection round, a total of 92 applications were received for the project “3.2.1-Start!”, of which only 30 teams, selected by an independent jury, made it to the semifinals and had the opportunity to go to a 4-day training camp in Issyk-Kul, called “BootCamp”.  Throughout the entire offsite event, participants were provided with accommodation, meals, and transportation. Team mentors as well as experts were invited to this camp. During the training, the participants of the project “3.2.1-Start!” received valuable knowledge and advice on topics such as ecology, entrepreneurship, marketing, branding, mindset, law, etc. While working with mentors, the teams were able to seek advice, improve their ideas and prepare for the final stage of the project – Pitching day.

Info-sessions with students in Chui oblast

The “3.2.1-Start!” team held meetings with students in dozens of universities in the capital and in Tokmok, where they talked about the project´s opportunities and prospects. At the info-sessions the goals of our project were discussed in detail, as well as who and how someone can apply for participation in the project “3.2.1-Start!”. Young people also had the opportunity to ask questions regarding the project.

Workshop on Social Projects

The project “3.2.1-Start!” aims to support business ideas of young people in Kyrgyzstan, which are focused on solving environmental and social problems in the country. This domain in the field of entrepreneurship is not very popular in Kyrgyzstan, but every year the interest in this type of business is growing, so within the project “3.2.1-Start!” a series of activities called “Workshop on Social Projects” was held, that anyone could visit free of charge.  At these trainings, invited experts shared their valuable knowledge and experience with young people in the field of social projects.
